Join us for our 8th Annual Ruck Cancer Rugby Tournament. All proceeds to benefit Positively Pink Packages organization.
On November 14, 2015, Uticuse Rugby hosted the 5th Annual Ruck Cancer Rugby Tournament at Dave’s Diner on Route 5 in Utica. An unprecedented 16 teams – 8 men’s and 8 women’s – traveled from near (Rome) and far (Philadelphia) to play.
The tournament theme, “Less Cancer, More Pizza,” was inspired by this year’s beneficiary, Mr. Benjamin Longale, a pediatric cancer patient from Voorheesville, NY. He loves the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which was reflected in everything from tournament t-shirts to team names.

On December 4, 2015, the Uticuse Rugby Club had their end-of-season formal at the Pale and Bucket in Syracuse. Sparkly PaperPlate Awards were presented, finger foods were consumed, flip cup was played, dances were danced, and beer flowed until the wee hours.
A good time was had by all, and over 140 food and toiletry items were collected for donation to the Veteran’s Outreach Center of Utica.

Uticuse was well-represented at the Rugby World Cup in London this year. Four players, Dy, Carly, Holly and Glod, as well as Coach Frank, traveled to the UK as members of the Nuts And Jugs touring side, which featured players from PA, NY and Eastern Canada. A total of 83 ruggers made the trip, which was a whirlwind week long and included the USA games against South Africa and Japan, a training at the London Irish facility, and the opportunity to play in a friendly match with the Worthing Women’s Rugby Club.
